Kilauea Volcano: it has been erupting for 17 years. Then there are the famous coffee and macadamia nut farms.
Waipio
Valley:This valley is our all time favorite. This lush valley
is unspoiled and pristine. There is a feeling of old Hawaii
here. Occupied by a handful of Hawaiians now, it once was home
to more than 50,000 people. Today horses still roam freely in
this lush valley.
Puuhonua
O Honaunau: the City of Refuge in the Kona area is always
a stop for us. In this ancient place we find connection to our
past. It is here that people found safety when being sought
by an enemy in the old days. Today this site is maintained and
opened for all to enjoy. Many Hawaiian still go here to practice
their religion.
The
Volcanoes National Park:This geological miracle of nature
is a must see. You will be able to witness the creativity of
nature. You will be able to observe the growth of this island.
Home to one of the most sophisticated observatories here you
will the beauty of nature's diversity. Here you can experience
the wonder and solitude of the dense forest or feel the emptiness
of barren paths created by the lava.
