So
you have decided to come to our home Maui. You have chosen the
second largest island in the Hawaiian archipelago to visit.
Maui is 727 square miles. Although just a speck on the globe
Maui offers something for everyone. With it's diverse climate
and landscape every interest and pleasure can be answered here.
If you are the true vacationer and just want to lay around on
the white sand or the if you are the adventure seeking type
Maui offers both and everything in between.
Although there
is so much to do here on Maui the
one
attraction that seems to appeal to all is Haleakala. From here
you can among the first to see the sun rise and then ride a
bike down the side of this volcano. You can also hike inside
this crater. Even in all it's glory Haleakala is not the only
attraction worth note.
These are a
few of our personal favorites:
Hana:
The drive to Hana in itself is an adventure. An all day expe-
dition,
Hana is what you expected Hawaii to be. It is unspoiled. Postcard
perfect, you will meet true Hawaiians and the aloha spirit here.
Pack a lunch and drinks, leave early and take your time on this
waterfall lined highway. Bring lots of film and a change of
clothes. If you have the time you may want to spend the night
in Hana. Camping is an option and there a few lodging facilities
Kahakuloa:
This area was once heavily populated is now home to
only a few Hawaiian families. However, this area is still very
pristine. The driving condition to and through this area are
very similar to going to Hana; however much shorter. People
still grow taro in their yards and get their water from the
streams. This area is home to some of the friendliest and nice
people in the world.
Iao
Valley: Located in the central area of the island this
Valley
offers
a panoramic view. This area offers a beautiful area for picnicking
with your family. A constantly flowing stream offers some cool
and refreshing swimming. Well maintained paths allow you to
hike through lush and very green forest.
Maui offers
something for everyone. The only thing you can not do on Maui
is see a flowing volcano. However, you are able to fly to one
and back in a matter of hours. We have tried to provide you
with as much information as possible to help you plan your time
here. If you should need more information lease feel to contact
